Congratulations and Thanks, Serious Eaters

Last night was a big one for all of us, Serious Eaters. At the 2010 James Beard Foundation Media Awards, we were fortunate enough to take home both of the awards we were nominated for: Best Food Blog and Best Video Webcast.

When I started Serious Eats more than three years ago, I knew that there was a place on the web for passionate, discerning, and inclusive food content, and I knew that, with the help of like-minded folks all over the world, we could become the greatest community of food enthusiasts and obsessives ever. And thanks to the insanely hard-working crew at Serious Eats World Headquarters, our hundred-plus talented contributors, and our huge and ever-growing pool of loyal community members, that dream has become a reality.

It was an honor just to be nominated, in such fine company as Grub Street New York, Hunter Angler Gardener Cook, Always Hungry NY Video, and Food. Curated. In the end, especially in the food blog category, we're about as different as can be—all of these awards could have gone any way. But we're humbled and thrilled to have taken home the win.

In the end, we didn't need a James Beard award to tell us that we're lucky enough to have the best online community of food lovers in the world. But it sure feels great to have it. This one's for you, Serious Eaters. Thanks for helping us do what we do.
