Midtown Lunch Los Angeles and Philadelphia Are Also Awesome

It was tough to see Midtown Lunch poobah and Serious Eats buddy Zach Brooks leave New York City in January, but he's sure making us hungry over there on the West Coast with his pork belly banh mi and plantain-stuffed burrito reports. Since launching Midtown Lunch Los Angeles he's been up to his usual fooding about town and weekly reader profiles in his Midtown Lunch'er series.

"But there is no Midtown in Los Angeles, Zach!" is what you might be thinking. He knows. He's seen a map. But his answer: "My fatness knows no boundaries!" Rather than focusing on a specific area of Los Angeles, he's searching for "Midtown Lunch'ish" spots, wherever those may be.

Also joining the Midtown Lunch family tree earlier this year was Midtown Lunch Philadelphia, with Jamie (she prefers not to give her last name) running the show. I mean, a person can only eat so many Wawa sandwiches, right? Jamie was profiled by Midtown Lunch NYC (Midtown Lunch the original?) before she moved to Philly, where she's now a law school student (in between noodle soup adventures).

So attention all Philly and Los Angeles-area peeps: read these sites. They will make your sacred lunch hour much tastier. With less overpriced, depressing salads involved.
