Last week on the Weekend Cook and Tell challenge we wanted to know what types of dips all of you would be scooping up while watching last Sunday's big game. As it turns out, your dip-related creativity didn't stop at sour cream and onion and guacamole, and dip consumption isn't reserved for spectator sporting events. Here are some of our favorite responses:
Among her friends MadelynRodriguez is known as the Queen of Dips for her artillery of dip recipes including veggie dip, red bell pepper dip, and cielito lindo, a Puerto Rican version of 7 layer dip.
Dips aren't reserved for sporting events at ElizabethS's house. This white bean and arugula dip was a part of a vegetarian weeknight meal.
katieelby is a fan of the the old standards. Take a look at her recipes for fantasy football hummus and kitchen sink guacamole.
Salsa is jzoccoli's favorite dip, namely Uncle Richard's Salsa from Homesick Texan.
CEBakes makes a dip that is embarrassingly easy, but delicious nonetheless. This goat cheese and pesto dip is just equal portions of goat cheese and store-bought pesto stirred together.
arwenb has a favorite BLT dip with plenty of crisp bacon, tomatoes, mayo, shredded cheddar, and sour cream.
orchidgirl chimed in with a few of her best dip recipes. Butternut Squash Hummus and Jenny's Famous Chicken Dip look like they would make particularly good chip companions.
On the subject of dipping, whoot wanted to know how all of you keep your guests from double dipping short of lectures and swatting hands. Any ideas?
Thanks to everyone who took the time to break out the old chip and dip platter for this week's Weekend Cook and Tell. Be sure to head over to Talk and read about next week's challenge: Aphrodisiac Additions.
