Look Who's Talkin': Comments, Quips, and Tips We Have Known and Loved

There's so much going on in Talk week to week that we almost can't keep up. If you're in the same boat, here's a small selection of topics and responses that have piqued our interest this week.

Boiled Tongue on Wonder Bread with Ketchup

Look Who's Talkin'"Is that your MIL's recipe?" CJ McD

Cooking Bacon in the Microwave?

"NOTE: If u nuke the bacon, the microwave will smell like bacon for a week. Blessed aroma for some, stench for others." finewinendine

The Caveman Diet

"Cavemen tend to get stuck in my teeth." selayng

What Would 'They' Say About You?

"As @gbania said so eloquently: 'I don't know what they'll say about me later, but I hope it's something like: "I love cooking and I learned from watching and helping my mom." I just want my kids to know and love food, and learn about good food at home -- just like I learned by watching my mom cook and eating home-cooked meals every night.'

My little one is only 9 months old, but she's already proving herself to be quite the adventurous little eater (with her 1 tooth!) -- I hope she looks back on her childhood and feels that she learned a love of food and a love of cooking and baking from her dad and me. It's already begun - here's a video of her whisking eggs with my MIL!" CookiePie

'Cleanup in Aisle Seven'

"Does it count as my fault if the produce guy knocked over a pyramid of melons because he was busy watching me walk by?" ProfessorChaos

Do You Cook for Your Pets?

"we never specifically made anything for my dog, but he was very smart about getting food - whenever we were baking or cooking he would hover around the oven and counter waiting for food to be dropped. we never had to clean! after he died it was terrible though because i would subconsciously drop food on the ground and not pick it up - things got dirty after a while. he did really love grapes - the colder the better, he would toss them around and make them bounce before eating them." neverending appetite

What Iconic Foods/Brands Have You Not Tried?

"This is a great topic but also really scary because I've eaten a lot of the items mentioned above. I loved slurpees as a kid and eat tastycakes whenever I can find them. My first week of college was spent trying every kind of cereal the cafeteria had (about 12-15 different kinds of sugary things my mother always refused to buy). And I used to eat Nutella right out of the jar with a big spoon." gingercookiewithlime

Transporting Food in Carry On Luggage

"We always travel with a little cooler of great stuff to eat on the plane. It has been hard traveling, though since the Christmas underwear fiasco. It would be a shame to see it all go to some TSA agent for his/her lunch. Can you bring a suitcase and fit the cooler inside and try to get that checked?" PoorOldMama
