Growing up, my mom never let me eat Fruit Roll-Ups, but she'd sometimes buy me the less artificial fruit leather from the health food store. David and Luise of Stockholm-based food blog Green Kitchen Stories seem to have the same idea as my mom, except they decided to make fruit rolls at home. Although not a fast process, it's easy: purée fruit, pour into a parchment paper-lined baking sheet, and bake at 140°F (or as low as your oven can go) for 5 to 8 hours. If you plan on drying fruit frequently, you could invest in a dehydrator.
