Video: Minnesota State Fair's Food on a Stick

20090916-video-foodonsticks.jpg

If it can be shoved on a stick, the Minnesota State Fair probably has it. In this video from Wallet Pop, Jason Cochran tries to find as many foods-on-sticks as possible, from the basic corn dog to Swedish meatballs to Scotch eggs. Methinks I need to plan to go to next year's fair. Watch the video after the jump.

@_greenbean: That's strange..it works when I play it. Anyone else having a problem? :(

works for me on firefox

What an awesome video. I avoid going to the MN State Fair more than every few years (went last year though - Pig Lickers need to switch to dark chocolate, btw). This made me a little nostalgic. I had a great Pork Chop on a Stick one year. Beautifully shot.

Scotch eggs are sacred, and should not be impaled.

Everything else...yeah, I'd give it a go.

hmm, maybe its not working on explorer. i'll check back at home. i probably should wait til then anyway. i just ate lunch and my snack for the afternoon. i just couldn't stop thinking about it. now i'm out of food for the day.

Too bad he didn't shoot the fried butter they had this year and the fried cheese curds. I'd like to see the butter, which I hear is frozen, breaded and deep fried. Crazy that. I heard the Garrison Keillor broadcast from there a couple of weekends ago. Then I heard he had a stroke shortly thereafter. I wonder what he ate there...(he's ok).

I'm always shocked when I hear that other states' fairs don't put everything on a stick. It's just such a perfectly tacky practice for the event.

Please do come next year! I'm happy to guide the SE crew around! I went twice this year and had some really delicious chokecherry soda, sunfish filets, crackeroons, Mediterranean lemonade, and of course the usual fried goodies. My friend's mom works for the fair so we had the inside scoop on where to eat!

Hey, what better to way to eat food than with a handle? Never been to MN., but this is as good a reason as any. Maybe next year!!!

I grew up in Minnesota, and I have some gripes about the place, but the State Fair isn't one of them. It's the best.

I went to the Iowa state fair once. They had battered deep-fried pork tenderloin, served with cheese and bacon on a soft roll. My arteries have never forgiven me.

I love the Georgia State Fair in Perry -- Mac n' cheese on a stick!!!! yum.

There must be something in the air -- I just wrote about this video yesterday too at my other site! I would love to try one of those Pronto Pups, I've heard they're amazing.

And we wonder why obesity rates are climbing.

This is mind blowing.
