The Biggest Full English Breakfast in the World

Mario’s Cafe Bar in Westhoughton, UK, serves the biggest full English breakfast in the world, according to Guinness World Records. The Ultimate Breakfast costs £10.95 ($18.05) and consists of 10 eggs, 10 sausages, 10 rashers of bacon, 10 slices of toast, five black pudding slices, tomatoes, mushrooms, and baked beans for a total of about 5,000 calories. If you eat it in 20 minutes, you can get it for free. Thankfully, no one has yet to finish it—methinks the aftermath would not be worth the £10.95 you save. [via Metafilter]

Heck of a deal for under 20 bucks, especially if they let you take home a doggie bag.

Man vs Food UK edition?

And they make fun of Texans for big steaks? That's one hell of a way to start your day...

it's a great deal when shared with 10 people. $1.80 per person.
gargupie at 9:04AM on 09/17/09
that grosses me out.
gastronomeg at 9:39AM on 09/17/09
Oi! Is this the version of Man vs Food over in the in UK? :)
plazmaorb at 9:56AM on 09/17/09
@gastronomeg -- Grosses me out, too.
As gargupie pointed out, in a roundablut way: That could feed an entire family for a couple of days for breakfast, and be a helluva deal. Super gluttonous is all it is. Ugh.

Looks like a picture off "This Is Why You Are Fat," an awesome website!

@gargupie-- or, more reasonably ( and more fillingly) split betwixt two hungry people for a very reasonable $9ish.

I find even a normal full English nauseating, and I'm English! We don't eat them every day, by the way. It's holiday food, and always reminds me of terrible B&Bs I wish I'd never booked. Two poached eggs, two rashers of thick-cut bacon and some toast...that's all I want.
NotAmerican at 11:10AM on 09/17/09
@NotAmerican - "rashers" eh? Blimey!
Why does the bacon look under cooked?
Lvn4life at 11:39AM on 09/17/09
The toast is its biggest weakness. Who, other than Elwood Blues, wants to eat 10 slices of toasts in a single meal?
redfish at 1:07PM on 09/17/09
@redfish -- I didn't even notice the stack of toasts!

"Why does the bacon look under cooked?"
@Lvn4life - It's not streaky bacon, it's back bacon.
SqueezeBottle at 1:58PM on 09/17/09
@SqueezeBottle... I was wondering the same thing. Looks like streaky not back bacon to me. Streaky bacon that pink... gag.
lexophile at 3:58PM on 09/17/09
@lexophile - If you look at the picture in the Bolton News article (especially the pictures that show up at the end of the video) and the at the larger version of the picture used for this post you can clearly see that it's back bacon.

It needs more mushrooms.
BrianPrestonCampbell at 5:38PM on 09/17/09
I'll bet Michael Phelps could polish that off during training season.
finewinendine at 7:48PM on 09/17/09
Aside from the toast, I think I could polish that off. I could probably manage the toast if I used it to soak up stuff like egg yolks and bacon grease.
I really expected that to be a lot more expensive. At that price, it's not really worth trying to stuff it down in 20 minutes.
wunami at 12:27PM on 09/18/09
Speaking of toast, there's 2 stacks there, so at least two people at the table ordered it... why not just split it? I think 4 normal sized people could eat happily on that.
feistyfoodie at 3:20PM on 09/18/09
Seriously gross and at that price I really don't want to know where they bought the food
