Frame Plates

These frame plates from Israeli industrial design program d-VISION "function as a canvas for food as a work of art." Pretty food will look prettier, and ugly food will look...abstract. Perhaps not the most practical eating vessel, but it's a cute idea. [via NOTCOT.org]

Why aren't they practical for eating off of? The sides are a bit higher than normal, but they don't seem high enough to make them impractical.

@btchyfoody: To me, just because of the rim. Not that it's impossible to eat off of, just that stuff would more likely get stuck in there, and then it'd be slightly more annoying to clean. (On the upside...it would keep food food from escaping better? Haha.)
