'The Next Food Network Star' Season 5 Finale Breaks Cable Records

20090804-nfns-qb.jpgSunday night's season five finale of The Next Food Network Star was the highest-rated, most-watched telecast in Food Network history with a reported 4.7 million viewers. Think of all the people who didn't watch True Blood, Real Housewives of Atlanta, and Family Guy!

Ugh. The last thing the Food Network needs is more encouragement for these awful shows.

Obvious proof of what a crap show it is and how it needs to go off the air. Surely Bob and Susie will decide to call it quits now.

Sigh! So glad I have my Serious Eaters that I can relate to.

I would rather watch Real Housewives of Pitcairn Island than NFNS.

Some of us have Tivo and can still watch True Blood!

I recorded FNS and watched it after True Blood. Guy Fieri was one of my students when he was in college at UNLV. Here is some trivia for you: His name was Guy Ferry at the time. He later reverted to his original Italian family name.
