What meal can a housewife whip up for her husband in no time? Chicken in a can! Open! Dump! Delicious! ...Not really! Watch the video after the jump. (Warning: Not safe for those easily skeeved out by a pink chicken lump slathered in colorless goo.)

whoa. consider me skeeved.

This is exactly as disgusting as I imagined it would be, the first time I saw one of these on a shelf at the supermarket. What are people actually doing with a whole, canned chicken? (Or do I not want to know?)

i think i just threw up a little

*speechless*

DISGUSTING!!!

Literally sick to my stomach; this has to be the most repulsive food product EVER that came from a can!

Skeeved, peeved, bereaved at the under achieve(ment) of those who would let this into their kitchen or onto the street they live on. I think it's the "plopping" of said protein matter onto the plate that just does me in.

But they are locally grown. Don't you always can your extra commodities for the winter months?

Eeeeeewwwwwwwww. That is the nastiest thing I've seen in a while. Just to put that in perspective, last week my brother dared me to embark on some Google image searches related to...um...how do I put this politely?...intestinal issues. This was grosser.

i am truly scared. and repulsed.

I can't believe I just read this. I just got back from visiting my family on the east coast, and all of them were reminiscing about the days of chicken in a can! All of them are home cooks, usually everything from scratch, and yet all of them swore that chicken in a can was delicious and talking about how much they missed it. It sure looks like it sounds, though.

I gagged and my eyes were watering....as soon as he face planted into a bite I had to stop watching!

Actually, it looks good to me! Perfectly boiled chicken, with protien-rich gelatinized broth. If it's seasoned, it's just waiting to be warmed and inviting dumplings and/or vegies. 50's simple suppers! I'm for it.

The A.V. Club's Taste Test feature did a review of chicken-in-a-can a while back. You can watch a man eat a whole chicken in one sitting. By candlelight.

That is the most disgusting thing i have seen in a long time.
