One of my cats, who is now in catnip heaven, used to do this. We called it "doing the Pope," because it looked like he was blessing everyone! He never spoke when doing it, and he would do it just out of the blue.

This kitten is TOO cute. Mine screams bloody murder for her food an hour before I get up. I give her treats when I come home from work, and she bats at them with her paw to get them in her mouth.

my starting thought was 'just feed the cat..' then my mind promptly exploded at the cute.
my siamese/himalyan cross just stares at me cross-eyed (she can't help it) and meows. i don't understand her. her meow is the same for everything. i've never had a cat I didn't understand.

Oh my goodness, this kitten looks just like my kitten at home! That's a little freaky....same size, same meow, same markings....
however, she won't eat out of a bowl yet so I am still bottle feeding her.

We live in the country, and we have quite a few barn cats around. One does that same move, before rolling on his back in anticipation of belly rubbing. Then he eats the mealworms we put out for the birds.
I love cats.
