The Vanity Fair article on Julia is one of the best I've seen for capturing her spirit!

Jackie, I agree completely. I grew up with her...my mother and I would watch her show, and then I'd go play chef with some old pots and pans that were kept in a special cupboard. She really taught us how good food can be, and I imagine her spirit frowning on all the short-cuts and slap-dash that goes on in so many kitchens today.
When I saw her kitchen at the Smithsonian, I nearly wept. She was just so precise...she had a pegboard, and she had outlined in marker the shape of everything on it, so everything was hung precisely in the same place every time.

I too wanted to plug the Julia article--although nothing can top My Life in France!
