Video: Tom Colicchio's 'True Blood' Drink for Vampires

20090616-videos-true-blood-vampires.jpg

Since the world just can't get enough vampires, Tom Colicchio does a little plug for the second season of HBO's True Blood, which returned on Sunday, with this red goo-resembling drink made of beet juice, roasted sugar snap peas, fennel, fava beans, and chicken stock. Colicchio is looking out for all those awkward scenarios when your vamp friends can't eat with the humans and are craving a 98.6°F drink. The video, after the jump.

Seriously its just a show, no need to go overboard fanboy

Sounds revolting.

Stupid, stupid stupid...
Very disappointing presentation of a person I thought
of as an excellent chef.
I expected much more of him...really sad.

Uh what's with everyone getting their panties in a wad about this? It's part of True Blood's marketing campaign BloodCopy. It's not terribly entertaining but how are people offended by this?

I'm not getting the hate either. It's a fun show and if Tom wants to participate in a marketing campaign for it, that's his thing. He already did one for Diet Coke. I'd still eat at his restaurant. I'd even try the drink and not because of some goth thing. I like beets.

No hate or uppityness here. True Blood is supremely fun to watch and it's heartening to see that Colicchio affiliated himself with an HBO series.

I wish HBO would start to produce or air more culinary programs.
