Weekend Cook and Tell Round Up: Sandwiches
Welcome back to the Weekend Cook and Tell Round UP. I had a feeling that last week's topic was going to be a popular one—who doesn't like sandwiches, right? This week we've gotten some really fantastic responses. Here are some of our favorites:
Rdkturner went all out with this sandwich made of homemade rabbit terrine, homemade mayo, shallot mustard, grilled zucchini, and hard goat cheese. Homemade rabbit terrine? Rdkturner, you are my hero—no pun intended!
MadelynRodriguez is a pro Cooker and Teller. Take a look at her Provençal Sandwich over at Karma-Free Cooking.
Orchidgirl shares not one, but four sandwich ideas. Check them out at her blog: Lamb Sausage, Fresh Mozzarella & Arugula, Brie, Roasted Pepper & Steak, Tilapia, Avocado, Tomato (TAT), and Smoked Salmon & Brie. I love the TAT!
Magtured is a fan of this James Beard classic: two slices of freshly baked bread spread with butter, with a thick slice of sweet onion between.
ChefDJen made a flat iron steak sandwich with caramelized onion, horseradish sauce and Seastack cheese. Check out the recipe over at Notes From Home Plate.
Cassaendra paired a Vietnamese slaw with Cajun chicken breasts to make these amazing looking sandwiches.
Kitchengeeking piled Dijon and lime braised pulled pork on top of English muffins for these fork and knife-worthy open-faced sandwiches.
As for me, I made a late night grilled cheese with truffled Sottocenere and arugula on some crusty bread—delicious.
Thanks to everyone who participated in this week's Weekend Cook and Tell. We love to see what all of you are cooking up at home. Be sure to head over to Talk for this weekend's topic: Make a Meal for $10!
