Tayberries Are Now In Season

I'd never seen a tayberry before today, but I've never met a berry I didn't like. The San Francisco Chronicle has a short piece on the recently bred Scottish fruit. It's the product of a cross between a European raspberry and an Aurora blackberry, and it resembles an unripe version of the latter. In season only until mid-August, they're now popping up on menus around the San Francisco Bay.
