Weekend Cook and Tell Round Up: Food Souvenirs

It's time once again for the Weekend Cook and Tell Round Up! Last week's theme was food souvenirs. The idea was to cook up something inspired by a meal that you had while on vacation. As usual we've gotten some great responses:

Mepolo made pulled pork sandwiches inspired by a meal in Southwestern Tennessee. The pork was braised with apple juice and barbecue sauce, and served with a creamy slaw. According to mepolo the meal was a great success!

Paula Maack recreated this refreshing cocktail that she had while on her honeymoon in Venice. It's a tasty sounding combination of prosecco, vodka, and lemon gelato. I'm definitely going to be mixing up of few of these over the summer.

Maxcriden replicated the chicken tacos from La Posta, a taqueria in San Diego. A strawberry agua de fresa rounded out this southern California Mexican meal.

I made Pasta alla Norma, it's a Sicilian summer classic that I ate several times while in Palermo. Sauteed fresh tomatoes and eggplant finished with basil and some ricotta salata.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the Weekend Cook and Tell. We love to see what all of you are cooking at home. Be sure to check back later and find out what next week's theme is going to be!
