The Most Beautiful Baked Good: Cookie Cake Pie

In perhaps the ultimate example of gilding the lily, Cakespy.com has posted a recipe for a Cookie Cake Pie. This concoction is exactly what it sounds like, a pie with a layer of cake and one of cookie dough. It's like a Turducken, but with lots of sugar. I am seriously counting down the seconds till I can make this. What's your favorite dessert mash-up?

I think this is the perfect sugary thing to break in my new mixer...

Is it just me, or are the sprinkles way out of proportion to the pie plate? Is it a teeny tiny pie plate, or are they jumbo sprinkles?

Looks like a Cakewreck to me....

Holy cow! I just went into diabetic shock - and I'm not even diabetic.

I think I might be old and grumpy on this one but this is just too much for me. It all ends up looking and sounding rather gross. :X

Cheesecake with a sugar cookie crust. It's disgustingly good. Also, Ice cream pie with cake frosting mixed right into it. I feel so ashamed even mentioning these things lol!

Nah, not on Cakewrecks (it actually looks kinda pretty), but on ThisIsWhyYou'reFat...or w/e that website is called....

I love me some desserts, and lots of it at a time if I'm left unsupervised, but this seems kind of like carb-overload.

I'm with you ferionnenna. I just don't get it. Sorry!

Bread pudding with more bread pudding.

Around Thanksgiving, the cafeteria where I work sells some really tasty pies. Some are Amish made, but one of my favorites is a layered pumpkin pie cheesecake. It's quite heavy since the cheesecake is baked the normal way, not instant cheesecake. IIRC, I usually spent ~$25 on an 8" round, so I can't really overindulge.

I may be in the minority, but I'd certainly not turn down a slice of this.

My favorite dessert mash-up is actually quite delicious: I make a peanut butter ice cream pie with a brownie crust. I bake a batch of brownies and then mash about 1/2 of them them into the bottom of a pie plate, forming a crust. Then I mix chunky peanut butter with vanilla ice cream and sometimes I'll add mini-chocolate chips and fill the crust and then freeze it until the softened ice cream firms up again, then I top with fresh whipped cream and chocolate curls. Guilding the lily? Perhaps. Decadent and delicious? Definitely.

the textures seem like they'd be off. raw pie dough topped with raw cookie dough and cake batter, then baked for 30-40 minutes? a big pile of mushy sweet carbs. blech.
plus, the best part of a pie is not the crust alone (hopefully).

i'd rather eat a cookie, a piece of cake and a slice of pie :)

I would've blind baked the pie crust, and the cookie dough... Probably would've been better to make a carvel-type ice cream cake on top, rather than a real cake too. Too dense this way. Buttery pie crust, topped with buttery chocolate chip cookie, topped with carvel ice cream cake with the crunchies!!! Through in cookie puss's ice cream cone nose, and you got a winner.

Brownie + Blondie + hazelnut icing + toasted pecan cake It freakin' rocked!

Some of you may recall this guilty pleasure of mine, which I shared with SE readers a while back.

My new favorite? The Lemon Sorbetto, since it mixes homemade lemon ice cream (recipe provided in link, and it doesn't require an ice cream maker!), Vodka and Proscecco.

And, don't even try to tell me that Vodka and Prosecco aren't dessert items, because I will beg to differ. ; )

Also, I think this one may qualify, since it combines Jell-O with traditional Raspberry Bavarian Cream, but really it is just a vintage 70s shortcut, which is where the true guilt lies. Assuming you are prone to guilt, that is.

Cheers,

~ Paula

Did you see the cross section photo? It all looks raw! The cake is all goo along with uncooked cookie dough. Then to put all that butter cream frosting on? This tiny 9 inch pie has at least 4 sticks of butter (one for pie dough, 2 for cookie, one for frosting) plus probably 1/2 cup oil in the cake mix! Yuck, even the 7 year old me would want to puke after eating a bite of this.

oh good, i was afraid i'd look at the comments and be the only person to think this was gross!
it makes my teeth hurt just thinking about it.
and seriously-cookie dough is the most disgusting thing ever.

Brownie + cheesecake + chocolate icing....it's so wonderful and to be made for special occasions. It's essentially a cheesecake brownie with icing, but believe me, it's SO much more!

That looks a little too supermarket dessert-y for me...I prefer fancy flavors over sheer amounts of sugar. I am planning an ice cream based on a classic pie flavor for this weekend, though I decided to skip the crust chunks in the ice cream in favor of serving it in crust bowls. Gotta keep it classy.

Two words: Cheesecake Milkshake.

Dorie Greenspan's Chipster-Topped Brownies (brownies topped with chocolate chip cookies) from "Baking: From My Home To Yours." The marriage of two of my favorite desserts.
