Oh! For some reason I thought those Nabisco Classics cookies I'd been seeing were the reincarnated Mother's. But clearly they were just trying to horn in on a market vacuum in the interim. Thanks for setting the record straight!

Mother's frosted animal crackers are like crack. I can't wait to have them again!

dear god, please don't let them have tinkered with the animal cookies.

I am now literally counting the days. I second anitaepler....don't mess with the frosted animals!

someone gave me a bag of them for my birthday this year. now that i know they weren't being sold at the time i'm a little curious as to just how old they were. ah preservatives, thank you for not letting me be killed by circus animals.

@mschlock....so did i...i'm glad they weren't becasue they weren't as good

@mschlock: I got so excited when I saw those Nabisco wannabes. I luuuurve the pink and white circus animals. The Nabisco frosting was GROSS. I didn't even finish the cookie. I threw out the bag of cookies...and if you knew me, that's a big deal.

I almost fainted when I picked up the grocery ads today and saw Mother's cookies are back! I must have missed the story on Kellogg's buying them. Thank God! I couldn't believe such a great product wouldn't be snatched up by someone. Too bad I spent so much money grabbing my favorites in December when I thought all was lost, oh well, just glad they're available again. Can't wait to go shopping!

I don't know how I will get these cookies all the way out in North Carolina, but I am sure gong to try!

I have been following this story through my blog:

Don't bother!! I just bought and tried (5 minutes ago) my favorite Mothers
"Taffy Cookies" and my second favorite " Circus Animal Cookies", they aren't even CLOSE to the real Mothers Cookies. How sad, except that I hate Kelloggs, and now don't have to worry about buying Mothers from them. The cookies aren't terrible, just not as good as before!
