Julia Child: Cooking with Master Chefs

20090426juliachild.jpg

Cooking with Master Chefs was Julia Child's PBS television cooking show featuring her visiting 16 celebrated chefs in the United States. Nine of the episodes are now online in their entirety, including the 1994 Emmy nominated episode featuring Lidia Bastianich. My favorite episode is with a young and dapper pre-"BAM!" Emeril Lagasse, demonstrating his recipe for shrimp etoufee and a New Orleans crab boil. Watch the videos online ยป

Emeril was so adorable. (And now look at him.)

What I'm looking forward to is "Julia Child: Cooking with Master Chief"

Do I not get credit for posting this in talk a while ago?

This is what Food TV used to resemble, and what it should be like. I've used that etoufee recipe-- works great. Say what you will about Emeril, at least he's not making Sloppy Joes, like Rachel Ray, or pouring canned peaches over pound cake and calling it deseart, like that blond chick.

Loved this series and have the cookbook (signed by Julia) from it. Even Julia's comments and questions were both entertaining and educational. And, what a huge change in Emeril: he's SO annoying now!
