The Cadbury Creme Egg McFlurry at British McDonald's
From the blog of comedy writer Julie Klausner:
Easter is tantalizingly around the corner, quoth the candy aisles of Duane Reade (which has Whoppers Robin's Eggs) and Walgreen's (which has Milk Chocolate Praying Hands). But according to my friend Jocelyn, who has BEEN TO ENGLAND, our candy may as well be pushpins and gravel. Because across the pond, come Easter, the Brits are doing what they do all year round: making us Americans look like potato salad-shucking morons. Behold, the CADBURY CREME EGG McFLURRY.
Of course, there's nothing stopping you from making your own Cadbury Creme Egg shake at home. [via Buzzfeed]

My teeth hurt just reading the title.
I'd hit that.

Although I'm sure sugar-shock would ensue, it's hard not to like this idea. Mmm, cadbury choclate...

They have this in Canada as well. Somehow, it loses all the appeal of the Creme Egg itself. The goo gets lost in the goopy ice cream, making it even sweeter and cloying. You're basically left with extra-sweet sloppy soft-serve and low quality chocolate.
I used to get this all the time!

Wait, Cadbury sells its eggs in England YEAR ROUND? Cadbury Creme Eggs are my very favorite candy -- I start pacing drugstore aisles in January. Nonetheless, I think this shake would kill me.

One of my friends lurks around Micky D's every year around Easter waiting for the arrival of the creme egg mcflurry. For her it is a celabration, to be enjoyed as often as possible until they are gone for another year.

I'm not sure if I want to laugh or cry, salivate or vomit, at the sight of this confection. All of the above perhaps?

if my hubby saw this, he would be packing his bags and moving away. Looks horrible to me though! so.much.sugar.

This is usually my favourite Mcflurry of the year!!
We have creme eggs here all year round - and the new twisted creme egg bars which are fabulous!

But in the US, you have Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs, which have the perfect chocolate-to-peanut butter ratio. I used to plan trips to the states after Easter, so I could stock up on the discounted bags of Reese's Eggs.

I still say that one of the best desserts I've ever eaten was a McFlurry in Ireland made with Crunchie Bar pieces (chocolate-covered honeycomb toffee) - Cadbury chocolate rocks! I would definitely try this out!

Don't they know it is lent? ? ?
sophia kitchencaravan at 4:33PM on 03/03/09
i think that's the point, sophia. also, in canada, tim horton's roll-up-the-rim campaign always coincides with lent... it's all a plot to undermine people's efforts to abstain from chocolate and coffee!

When I was a student my roommate and I decided to bake a Cadbury Creme Egg stuffed chocolate bundt cake for a party we were hosting. We fantisized about cutting into this great chocolate cake and slicing into a gooey Creme Egg, Tunnel of Fudge style. Unfortunately while baking the creme filling turned rock hard, and we had to eat the cake around the hard lumps. What a waste of 6 Creme Eggs - a big financial investment at that time!

Loved them as a kid. Not a fan of them as an adult. But if this were around these parts, I think I would have to try it just to say I did. Wow.
Why the flip isn't the Butterfinger one on the menu anymore? By far the best... And how about a Reeses Pieces McFlurry!? McFlurrys are the only reason to even set foot into a McDonalds in the first place.

Too bad their ice cream tastes like plastic.

I'd rather have a nice safe and sane Cadbury chocolate bar in one of its many incarnations rather than eat one of those CC Eggs or attempt to take even a straw-ful of that Mc Flurry...
Definitely would NOT be something I would try if I went to the UK.

I work at McDonalds and didn't know they had started the promotion yet!
Fancy finding out on Serious Eats first.
