The white cup is reminiscent of a toilet to me too. It also seems as though it would be easy to accidentally bang your knee on the cup handle.

They should paint the top part to look like there's tea or coffee inside. Oooh, I can already see the tea bag shaped cushion to go with it!

Sorry to say, toilet was the first thing I thought too. Not something you want to get in white.
