This reminds me of the endless amount of fun I had in laboratories with liquid nitrogen and just about anything and everything my lab partners and I could get our hands on :).

Yeah, I was gonna make a snarky comment about liquid nitrogen, but bananas tend to turn brown when you freeze them.

Actually, the speed at which liquid nitrogen freezes the banana would probably prevent it from browning during freezing. Not sure what happens when it thaws though...

That banana looks deliberately cut. I would enjoy it much more if the artist had gone the liquid nitrogen route.

@cara_mia: I'm pretty sure it's supposed to look deliberately cut. I think it looks more interesting that way—liquid nitrogen would've been "easy" (I mean, assuming you have access to it); thinking about how to cut the object into shards takes more effort. Other ones: shattered tissue box and shattered coffee cup.
