In Videos: Time-Lapse Videos of Growing Plants

20090327-timelapseplants.jpg

Metafilter rounds up 20 time-lapse videos that capture plant growth. See how your corn, peppers, mushrooms, and peas came to be. Here are four of my favorite videos after the jump.

Corn

The beneath-the-soil action is especially cool.

Pepper

Who knew that pepper plants were good at dancing?

Blue Oyster Mushrooms

Looks more like something you'd find under the sea.

so cool! thanks for sharing these. i like the mushroom one the best.

wow the mushrooms are so creepy/beautiful. reminds me of science class in middle school, we used to watch these time lapse videos of stuff growing and decomposing and stuff. watching a mouse decompose made a huge impression on me at that age lol.
