How to Make Green Beer for St. Patrick's Day

20090311-greenbeer.jpg

At times like this, I hope our frat boy readership is really strong. Apparently there is more to green beer than just food coloring and beer. Oh wait, there's not at all. But this step-by-step guide says six drops of dye, when dealing with a vaguely yellow beer, is the magic number. Otherwise you get a more olive tone. Complicated stuff! [via UniqueDaily.com]

Why not just use a little blue - because, you know, blue and yellow make green.

I'm an undergraduate and a fraternity boy. And I live in the city of Kogi and Umami and a million other wonderful culinary opportunities.
I am your frat boy readership.

I have a story about booze and dye.

I worked for a wine store and the owner was really mean. He loved his red wine. One night, we put about half of a bottle of red food coloring in his red wine. He ended up going to the hospital because he thought he was peeing blood. Revenge is sweet.

that story was freakin' amazing! were there consequences for the employees?

If you read the article, you have found out that the person tried your idea, and it turned out an olive color instead of an emerald green.
