Cake Wrecks is good fun, but best food blog? It's really about amusingly bad spelling and poor art, not food.

The writer of Cake Wrecks herself noted that she may not exactly qualify for "food blog", so no need to be upset with her directly. On that note, I disagree with Cake Wrecks being a food blog on the same note that Buckethead pointed out.

I think Best Blog was fixed! But I will concur with the Best Teen Blog. Nick is really talented and a great writer. Watch for this kid to go places everybody!

While many folks might not think of Cake Wrecks as a food blog food blog, it is a blog about food, it's funny as hell, and it has a ton of readers. No surprise it won the category. And, just so we don't tread down this path again, there was a thread here on Serious Eats when CW won a different food blog award earlier this year: http://www.seriouseats.com/2009/01/serious-eats-nominated-for-2008-weblog-award.html#comments

this is really pitiful, proves that SXSW voters are not foodies. No offense to the winners, but...

@eleeb - fo sheezy

In defense of Pioneer Woman, her site is well-designed, with great photography, and she puts up content constantly. Multiple times daily. Pretty much by herself. And, down-home as they may be, her recipes are always crowd pleasers and she really loves food.

I agree, though. There's so many better food blogs than CakeWrecks.
