Russian Food Styling

20090204-russiandressing.jpg

Русиан фуд стылинь ат итз финест.

This gallery of Russian meat-product styling is pretty amazing. I don't know if it's a joke or not, but the backgrounds, embellishments, and props that accompany the sausages and such are really baffling. [via Fine Furious Life]

Update: It looks like it's genuine. Here's the official site for the meat products.

For those of you who can't read cyrillics, the above states in English, "Russian food styling at it's finest." Adam, you a man of hidden talents. And I probably misspelled cyrillics.

May I suggest:

Аи кан хаз колбаса?

or

Фуд стаилин', юр дюин' ит раит.

@Robiwanburger: Credit where credit's due -- it was inspired by Michele's original Twitter message (where I first saw this gallery). She said "Russian food styling at its finest." The presence of the cat on the mug gave me the idea of running that phrase through the LOLcat Speak Translator: RUSIAN FUD STYLIN AT ITZ FINEST. Running that, in turn, though an online cyrillic converter gave me the caption.

By the way, I've come to the conclusion that, since the sausage is labelled "Tea Sausage" (because, as everyone is aware, sausages are commonly paired with tea), the mug is supposed to suggest teatime (rather than pureed cat.) No theory on the plastic grapes, though.

...on a semi-disturbing note, ive actually eaten some of that before (its the russian-ness in me, and my family's close proximity to a giant russian food store in NE philly). its like bologna.

the clydesdale figurine and the cat mug are the best.
