James Beard Award Semifinalists 2009 Announced

The nominees won't be announced until March. To give you a taste, we've listed the Outstanding Restaurant semifinalists after the jump; the PDF at the Beard site lists the rest—Outstanding Chef, Best New Restaurant, Rising Star Chef, etc.

Can anyone open that PDF? It crashed firefox three times by opening about a hundred tabs.

I was able to DL and open it. Have you tried just downloading it to your desktop or DLs folder and opening it with an Adobe reader?

On that note, I don't know why Beard doesn't just put it up online on an actual web page. Any site that uses PDFs when they could just do text-on-page is annoying.

Babbo, J-G????? For serious? Aren't there a few other, more recent restos that haven't ALREADY been showered with praise in NYC? Don't get me wrong, they're great, but seems to me like this is a little bit ridiculous, they don't need more recognition.
