In Videos: VendrTV.com Launches with Visit to NYC's Treats Truck

20090217-treatsvid.jpg

Vendr.tv, a podcast and website "covering the best of the best curbside cuisine the the world has to offer," launched on Sunday. The premiere episode has host Daniel Delaney visiting the Treats Truck in New York City. Delaney says that he and the crew are about to travel to Philly and Boston to highlight street vendors there, followed by a trip to the West Coast.

The premiere episode is well produced, if a smidge too long at 6:43 (my attention span for web video is two to three minutes). But Delaney seems like an affable-enough host, and street food is a topic that ignites fierce debate, so he and his team have plenty of material to work through. You can catch the debut episode after the jump.

Who pays for all this?

Treats Truck is a great idea and Kim seems to be a total sweetheart, but Daniel is far too much of a doofus for me to watch his videos on a regular basis.

@DanielJ - As with most startups, the early few months are quite costly. Hopefully we'll be able to make up for that in time. Right now it's just a small group of really passionate foodies, some good cameras, and enthusiasm.

@beersnob - I didn't check my levels and had doofus turned to 11. We'll fix it for the future.

i think this is such a great idea (even if i cant try them all, bc im a veg). plus, i think dan is the perfect host-totally makes the show!

i thought it was pitched at the right level and was a great idea too

Those of us in DC gnash our teeth at other cities' vendor goodness, but we do have more than we used to. If you work in a certain part of town.

@chanterelle I know! We've had a ton of trouble finding vendors in DC. It seems there's a guy there, Sam Williams, who's working pretty aggressively to make vending easier. Hopefully he gets his way.

If you have any suggestions, please shoot them my way, dan@vendr.tv.

Thanks for the support!

Daniel, why did you keep saying "VendyTV" when all the visuals showed "VendrTV"? Don't get me wrong, I think "VendyTV" is better and smoother to say, but....it doesn't seem to be the name of the program you are running....

@wunami Good Question! We were originally going to call the show that, but at the last minute changed it. All the future episodes, urls, and branding reflect the name as it stands, VendrTV. Sorry for any confusion this might have caused!

Yay Daniel...on my favorite food blog! Good going cuzzz. (I'm a couple months late...)
