In Videos: Personalized, Customized Cup of Instant Ramen Noodles

After we blogged about the personal-size ramen vending machine, Serious Eats community member lammoreaux pointed us to a video showing a Japanese operation that allows you to personalize your own ramen cup and then pack it with the noodle-and-ingredient combo of your choice—all shrink-wrapped just as you'd find it in stores. The video, after the jump.

The music .... it was just .... wrong!

bring one to the US!!

Yes, these should definitely come over to North America!!!

I don't know about you, but I can't wait to eat my overpriced instant noodles while listening to country bluegrass.

The thing is, I'm already a complete museum geek. I drove 180 miles just to see an exhibit on eating utensils. And now I gotta get to Japan, because this is the ultimate in interactive museum "exhibit." Oh, yeah, and it's yummy, "I'm not the pretentious foodie I pretend to be" yummy.

That movie definitely should have had yakkity sax as the background music.

O M G - my next trip to Japan, I'm definitely going there since we're going to Osaka anyway for the okonomiyaki and udon...along with the Sanrio Park, Harmonyland, which is in the same city my family lives in.

I'm glad it is Nissin Cup O Noodles, since those are the only cup noodles I'll touch -- the other brands don't even come close.

Corn, egg x 2, shrimp for me...

Is this at the Momofuku Ando Instant Ramen Museum? I was bummed because we visited towards the end of their operating day and this part shut down earlier than the rest of the museum. There were these puffy air sleeves offered to protect the precious styrofoam.
