In Videos: Food-Related Changes in New 'Simpsons' Intro

Marge buys Krusty-O's, Mr. Sparkle, and Tomacco Juice.
After 19 years The Simpsons finally got a new opener—all to highlight the show's first-ever episode in HD, which aired Sunday, February 15.
Even the most casual Simpsons viewer knows that food and drink has played a huge role in the show over the years, so it's not surprising to see a number of references to edibles in this intro. Watch video of the new opener, after the jump.

Kearney and Jimbo saw the head off Jebediah Springfield. It falls onto Ralph Wiggam, who is eating an ice cream cone below.

A giant Lard Lad Donuts sign is new. Lard Lad is, of course, a nod to both Big Boy and L.A.'s Randy's Donuts.

Bart skates out of school and lands on Barney, passed out under a pile of leaves—no doubt drunk on Duff beer.

The grocery store scene is still there, but now Marge is buying Frosty Krusty-O's, Mr. Sparkle dishwashing detergent, and Tomacco Juice—all references to stand-out episodes ("'Round Springfield," "In Marge We Trust," and "E-I-E-I-D'oh!" respectively).

Oh, and Marge's chain-smoking sisters, Patty and Selma Bouvier, are seen buying an entire cartload of Laramie cigarettes.

Baby Gerald now appears in the grocery cart next to Maggie's.

Homer still has the plug of radioactive material in his shirt, but now Otto the bus driver catches it and eats it.

Comic Book Guy can be seen very briefly with a bag and soda from Krusty Burger.
And that's all, folks. But, hey, here's the whole episode if you want to watch. There's a scene where Homer looks into a huge pot of spaghetti sauce to see what his life would have been like had he won senior class president in high school.
