Fast Food Critic Shuts Down Blog
The Fast Food Critic, a frequent commenter/poster on SE, retires his blog: "This is a sad day for me, and I have been trying to avoid it. I apologize to all the FFC readers who have visited and supported this project. I am turning off the ‘comments’ because I really can’t handle hearing what people have to say right now. Despite giving 100% to this site, I feel like I’ve failed. Please forgive me."

Does anyone know why the blog is shutting down?
PumpkinBear at 4:15PM on 02/02/09
@PumpkinBear, if you simply click through to his blog post (linked to above), you will be able to read why he's shutting down the blog. That's why I linked.

FFC, you're an excellent blogger. You know how I feel about what you do and have been waiting for you to email me back. Plz do so!

I completely respect FFC's committment to the integrity of his website. It's a rare thing in this world these days not to "sell out" to the highest bidder, and he has shown he has integrity in spades.

FFC, you haven't failed! We hope you'll be able to come back once you have more time - who else is going to man up and eat something called the "Angry Whopper" for us?

FFC was an inspiration to my numerous visits to Church's, Popeye's, BK, and now Sonic. 'Twas an awesome blog. Hope the fire returns...

I hope FFC takes a break and reconsiders this. I really enjoy that blog and looked to it often.

Hey Tim,
I can only speak for myself, but I sure miss you here on SE, and have been hoping that life was treating you well. From the responses, I see that I'm not alone. If you hadn't closed comments on your wonderful website, you would have heard the same. That is NOT a failure! I hope a respite will give you back your fire, for you surely have that, along with your wonderful sense of humor. Lots of reasons to not sell out (kudos for that moral decision!), but it also gives me hope that you'll return and write again. We care!
Hugs, Deanna

Oh, how sad. I really enjoyed the blog, and I was waiting for his review of Dunkin' Donuts' waffle sandwich as it goes head to head against McDonald's McGriddle (IMO: McDonald's wins).
Tim, please reconsider! Change the scope of the blog and the frequency of posts to fit your schedule and your lifestyle....
That is, of course, only if fast-food can still be a part of your lifestyle. Diets, healthy eating, recession-proofing your wallet...

I'll join in and tell you that you've been missed here, FFC.

Tim,
Everything is a lesson. You love to blog. Just change what you are blogging about. You are not held down to any one thing. Look at Ree from Pioneer Woman, she loves to tell stories and post pics and share her experiences and cook some food. Not every part of her blog is for everyone (I love her storytelling more than her cooking) but she puts out a great blog. It is the content that makes a great blog. So work on your content pick something you are passionate about and keep up updated.
Good Luck!
