How to Get Rid of Lobster...(Smell)?
"You might try scouring it with kosher salt and half a lemon, cut side down. The salt will work as a mild abrasive and the lemon for it's deodorizing properties." —dhorst

The Other Kind of Leftovers: Ingredient Orphans
"I usually end up with just a few spoonfuls of pesto. I use it to add quick flavor to soups. I also like to mix it into cream cheese, yogurt, or mayo for a dip or a sandwich spread. One of my favorites things is to mix it with hard boiled eggs for egg salad or deviled eggs." —Esmeralda

Butternut Squash Soup Recipe w/out Cream
"I don't have a specific recipe, but I don't put cream in any of my thickened soups. Simply cook until everything is tender and then use your immersion blender. It's like magic! Makes everything so smooth and creamy. People are always surprised there's no cream in it." —StripeyChef

What's the Difference Between Dulce de Leche and Caramel?
"Caramel is made from sugar, which can be syrups of different consistencies, if you add some milk or cream to it you get a more solid outcome. Dulce de leche ('milk sweet'), is a milk-based syrup. Found as both a sauce and a caramel candy, it is prepared by slowly heating sweetened milk to create a product that is similar in taste to caramel." —JerzeeTomato

Cooking Without Onions or Garlic
"I'm almost hard pressed to think of a situation where I wouldn't add some form of one or the other. My solution would be to head in the "spicy" direction...perhaps with some chiles or jalepenos and cilantro...which are both strong flavors and can carry their own..." —juliebugsmama

'Don't Eat Dairy When You Have a Cold': Old Wives Tale or Not?
"My son and I are both asthmatics and we are also prone to sinus infections. The specialist has said that there is some correlation between dairy and mucus production. She recommends avoiding milk and milk based products during respiratory flair ups, sinus infections and colds and says instead to pump the clear fluids--specifically water, clear juices and chicken broth to help thin out the mucus/phlegm, which makes it easier for your body to expell."—dhorst
