In Videos: Taco Bell Wedding

20090113-taco-bell-wedding.jpg

Illinois couple Paul and Caragh Brooks were married Friday evening at Taco Bell. Wedding favors included Taco Bell hot-sauce packets that read "Will you marry me?"

Said Paul Brooks: "We're a little bit of an offbeat couple, so we figured that we wanted to have an offbeat ceremony, and Taco Bell is the closest thing we have to a church, so ... this is where we like to hang out; this is where we wanted to do it." Video, after the jump.

There are no words to express how I feel about this... ok, maybe two:

"douche chills"

Aww, that's cute, I can't fault a couple for wanting to do things their way and not the typical white wedding. Weddings should reflect the couple, and while it's not my taste I think it's great they decided to celebrate their nuptials in such a unique way. Good luck to them!

i hope they brought in some johnnie-on-the-spots for the blessed occassion...the standard taco bell bathroom isn't big enough to accommodate that many simultaneous chalupa consumers at once.

I wonder if their receiving line was in the form of a queue like at Taco Bell.

I think thats awesome a couple not all wrapped up in the whole "Money = Love" Reminds me of the old days when marriage was for the love/sex and not for some kind of strange financial arrangement.... They will prolly

Love each other for life was what that was supposed to say

This is going to be hard to beat, maybe having the wedding at a 7/11?

@red - you know what would have made this really unbeatable? If they had a "Big Ass Pinata" where the sauce packets, oh sorry, "wedding favors", came out.

Big Ass Pinata

ok ok ok...I'm done.

@sOm3f00l: i can't think of a place that says "money=love" better than taco bell.

Taco bell wedding?! how dumb can people get

After eating all that Taco Bell food, should make for an interesting honeymoon. (Insert fart joke here).

I think it's great, different strokes for different folks, right?

i can think of no better place to get married...although isn't it a little to late for the "will you marry me?" sauce packets? maybe "i do" or "you may now kiss the bride" packets would have been a more appropriate choice...

I heard about this on the radio (sad?) The whole thing cost $200 and the mom said it was a real stress-free wedding! Can't beat that! :)

Chew on That

@ChewonThat: It's not that sad. I saw it yesterday on Neatorama, then saw it later that evening on Countdown with Keith Olbermann. If it's good enough for Olbermann ...

I know the groom (and have been to that Taco Bell). Good guy, and never one to do what's expected.

@jedimtb: Yeah. They seem like a fun couple! Give them my regards, fwiw! ;)
