Essence of Emeril: "Steak Frites." Emeril's twist on meat and potatoes. 8 a.m. ET, Food Network

Made in Spain: "The Onion That Would Be King." Jose goes to Cataluña to take part in the Calçot Festival. Back in the kitchen he uses a similar type of onion to make a white bean omelet. Then he shows how to create two more traditional dishes from this area, mar y montaña (Spanish surf-and-turf), which he pairs with the region’s famed Priorat wines; and canelloni. 3:30 p.m. ET, PBS

Simply Ming: "Madras Curry; Olives." Eggplant-olive tapenade with pita chips, roasted curry chicken with olive orzo stuffing, madras curry chicken paillard with a green olive and preserved eggplant panzanella, and seared curried butterfish with warm olive chutney. (repeat) 4 p.m. ET, PBS
