Food Blog Award Nominees Announced

Yes, another blog awards competition. But this time, it's the Food Blog Awards, which focus solely on eats- and drinks-focused sites and allow for a certain level of specificity when it comes to voting divisions. After the jump, the full list of nominees, with links to their attendant polling pages. Lots of old and new voices in the mix. But do you see any obvious favorites missing? [via Kalyn]

This is all very surprising to me. Deb @ Smitten Kitchen takes some great pictures and no nomination.
Serious eats not nominated at all. Well let me call bullshit on that.
I dig Tartlette because we have the same pots (Mauviel) the same need to make desserts and we live our lives in opposite (she a french expat married to an american/me american married to a french expat) and we have the same Canon Rebel XTi camera. (a suggestion from Deb @Smitten Kitchen)

I am ever in awe of those who allow us into their kitchens and minds to see their adaptions of recipes. It is by their generosity that the rest of us can lurk around and comment on what it is that strikes our fancy. So to all the nominees congratulations and thank you for letting us into your kitchens.

where is orangette?

Where's Serious Eats?!

I'm definitely missing The Amateur Gourmet! Should definitely be there in the humor category.

Don't worry about Serious Eats not being on the list. Despite what you might think, my question was not a fishing expedition for compliments. We have the support of our community, which is enough for us ;) I really do want to know about under-recognized blogs that you think should have made the cut. FWIW, Amateur Gourmet won best humor in 2004 and best blog post in 2007.

Ree from Pioneer Woman Cooks should definitely be there ... at least on the humor list, or the rural division!

I like the blog Roving Gastronome http://rovinggastronome.com/mainblog/
she's really funning and interesting. I'm not sure which division it would fit in.

Any photography category that doesn't include either Smitten Kitchen or MattBites is missing the boat, big-time.

Where's The Girl Who Ate Everything?!? Humor, photography, city and writing should have had a spot for Boppy. No Cake Wrecks, either.

There are so many great blogs to sift through in my internet. I'm kinda okay with the missing obvious ones like cake wrecks, etc. This is like a best of "indie" awards list. [shrugs]

Eating Asia, for Dave Hagerman's amazing and Robyn Eckhardt's prose, is a sad oversight.

They cannot be serious without Serious Eats!

Dinner With Julie for Best Chef; maybe Closet Cooking for photo?
