Mario Batali and Tony Bourdain are a couple of champion fat chewers who know and like and respect each other a great deal, so we thought why not bring them together for the next set of Chewing the Fat episodes.

(Assuming we could all have olive oil, garlic and herbs/spices)
My four pantry essentials:
good tinned tomatoes
dried pasta
beans
breadcrumbs

My four fridge essentials:
eggs
chicken
bacon
Kale

wow -- hard to keep it to just four.

Tortillas
Cheese
These two items have made my life infinitely better

Seriously? On The Road Again is the most pretentious show. Ever. OF ALL TIME. I tried watching two or three episodes, and all I wanted to do was punch everyone involved in the head.

Now, for the ingredients:
eggs
brown rice
soy
nori seaweed.

This is what I'm living on right now.

Mario isn't being entirely forthcoming. This list he just enumerated is a big part of his shtick (good olive oil etc.) The truth is, the number one ingredient on his list would be good old BUTTER :)

Give both of them credit for being true to their mantras.

4 pantry essentials:
brown rice (medium grain)
sardines
Philippine sweet pepper sauce
canned San Marzanos
