Bad Airline Meal Inspires Crazy Letter to Richard Branson

20090126-branson.jpgHilarious letter, with photos, to Richard Branson, president of Virgin Atlantic Airways, complaining about every item on an in-flight meal (Mumbai to Heathrow). The product of a mind at the absolute end of its tether. Witness:

I'll try and explain how this felt. Imagine being a twelve year old boy Richard. Now imagine it's Christmas morning and you're sat their with your final present to open. It's a big one, and you know what it is. It's that Goodmans stereo you picked out the catalogue and wrote to Santa about. Only you open the present and it's not in there. It's your hamster Richard. It's your hamster in the box and it's not breathing. That's how I felt when I peeled back the foil and saw this [right].

British people apparently still have no concept of actual Indian food.

It looks like that turkey dinner from Sheetz that FFC reviewed last Thanksgiving.

10 points for this guy!

Richard Branson actually followed up with a phone call. This is how to get noticed.

It's mustard Richard..... MUSTARD! More mustard than a man could consume in a month.

Dear god I read the whole article... best laugh today.

ooooh, i know how dude feels!

I flew Newark to London all of the time (well, about 6 or 7 times) when I lived there. I thought the in-flight meals were pretty good, although they only served one vegetarian option. Not my first choice of food in general--buttery, cheesy lasagna with mushrooms. It was actually better, however, than some veggie options I've gotten in a few very heavily meat-focused restaurants!
