What's up with only one blog in the majority of categories? Voting hardly seems necessary.

umm.. Robyn just listed all the food related ones in the various categories. There are 5 blogs per category.

Chocolate & Zucchini is also nominated for Best European Weblog. Didn't want to you to forget any chances for a food blog to win!

I am very proud of Deb@ Smitten Kitchen for her photography and her ability to try to serve it up "hot and fresh" almost everyday. She has tirelessly worked hard and deserves recognition. I don't think I have the dedication to constantly snap pics of what I am cooking. So I dig Deb.
She also gave me the best recommendation for camera and lenses. So for that I also applaud her talent.
Joy the baker is someone I have watched develop her blogability. I am also digging her and have put her up as a twitter "have you met?" which I do frequently.
Did we not get nominated for being the kick ass food blog this year?

Ummmm... Everybody Likes Sandwiches is also nominated in the Canadian Category.

I think the Pioneer Woman has joined forces with Paula Deen in trying to kill us.

I'm afraid to take a look; I just love SEats so much

A major food blog seems to be missing from this list...

What is wrong with these blog award people? At least this one makes you register/authenticate your vote... less ballot box stuffing.

I love reading the Pioneer Woman an Thursday Night Smackdown!
Best of luck to all the nominees!

From what I have heard, you have to sign yourself up for this one. We didn't know that and didn't nominate SE, so dems da breaks.

hmcnally, I don't understand the issue you are having with blog awards? Is it the public voting? Or the mass proliferation of different blog award groups?
If it's the latter, I don't get it either. The bloggies were first...but why do the other exist? Do we really need that many?

http://2008.weblogawards.org/polls/best-food-blog/ ...Cake Wrecks, >31000 votes vs.
As for bloggies.com, I just lament the lack of SE... I think their methodology is much better (requiring e-mail authentication of your vote). And yeah, there's too many awards... I guess 'tis the season, though.
