Hot beverage poetry doesn't get enough respect. The above example inspired me to write my own 5-7-5 metrical ode to hot chocolate:

once just a powder
but hot liquids transform you,
brown winter mustache

bittersweet goodness
i burn my tongue every time
marshmallows on top

steamy sweet you are
o chocolate num yummy
get in my belly

Melted dark chocolate
A mug of steaming hot milk
Cold winter day's treat

they sip hot cocoa
i brought the peppermint schnapps
new friendships emerge

haha.. i'm such the lush!

porcelain teacup
in a viennese cafe
divine cocoa joy

I like herbal tea
No caffeine, no calories
Though it's not cocoa

Warm cocoa lava

hot cocoa tastes good
one thing can make it better
lots of marshmallows

swiss miss or nestle's
with marshmallows or without
serious eats post

Snowy winter night.
Cups of sweet, hot chocolate
comfort like a hug.

think it's still too hot?
just can't wait for it to cool
ouch! crap! oh well, yum

Hot cocoa goodness
mom calls me in from the cold
the snowman will wait

Hot toddy in me
I'm thankful for the feeling
of warmth now, good night

hot chocolate powder
my favorite after school snack
forget the water

my wintertime love
cocoa: hot, rich and creamy
better with bailey's
