In Videos: Microwaves Play 'Jingle Bells'

The Scrooge in me says that something just doesn't add up here. How could they possibly time all these microwaves to play "Jingle Bells," accounting for the different cook times and for the time it would take to press all the "Cook" or "Start" buttons? But then my inner Jacob Marley warns me to just go with it and believe—to enjoy the show. And that's more fun. The video, after the jump. Happy seasonings!

Microwaves Play 'Jingle Bells'

I didn't watch the video, but I have a microwave at work that will start the moment you turn the dial to the minute you want. I think if these were like that you could hook them all up to the same power source, set the timers, and then turn the power source on.

@Tahitinova: I was thinking something similar too. Saw the video. The microwaves all appear to be on when they start doing the timers.

Additionally, they use multiple types to get the different notes. Some of which appear to need to be powered on to set (ie. digital as opposed to turning an analog knob).

It doesn't really look too hinky. Like they could have just planned really well.

To be honest the notes sound really off to me.

Umm...you guys are legends!!! If only we were that creative. Very nice.

Not familiar with the knob based models, but it seems to me that if they were all set for teh same time they could just "play" the song by hittign teh start buttons. There is a cut in there between the last timers beign set and the song starting. If this is legit it seems to me that this would be easiest way to do things then splice a setup montage before hand.

I think it's real, if only because the timing is so off. In other words, it's not good enough to be fake.

Someone had WAYYY to much time on their hands...
