Mousse or a pots de crème. Mmm.

Brownies, using Trader Joe's Candycane Joe-Joe cookies. Delish, and perfect for the holidays!

Also, I love it when the cookies themselves sit out a bit and go soft. Am I the only one?

Pots de chocolate

Reine de saba - Julia Child's almost-flourless chocolate-almond cake.

Just one? I guess my favorite chocolate dessert is the classic - my grandma's chocolate cake with mint icing.

Chocolate-rum cheesecake

Like I could choose just one? That's hilarious! Then all the others would get hurt and I'd have to eat them all. If it's made from good chocolate, I'm all over it and it's all over me.

Each item on that list sounds more amazing than the one before it!

as long as it is decadent, rich, and not too sweet, it is my favorite. chocolate cheesecake and chocolate decadence come to mind!

Any kind of cookie with chocolate chips in it.

This is a hard one. I guess, my current favorit chocolate dessert is Jeni's Chocolate & Peppermint Gelato.

truffles!

I had a "Bittersweet Chocolate and Beet Souffle" that was ridiculously good...

chocolate souffle, particularly from Range in San Francisco

Some kind of warm gooey molten chocolate cake.

But I will always take a dish of chocolate ice cream.

Chocolate cake with a thin layer of rasberry jam and a thin layer of cheesecake all blanketed in a thin layer of chocolate ganache.

Since I adore chocolate, I could eat it it straight and simple. If it is a good quality chocolate, it would be a shame to hide its flavor in a complex dessert. So I guess, my favorite way to consume chocolate would be the delicious hot chocolate from the Mocca Club in Vienna, Austria. Made with 70% chocolate from the Ivory Coast, and whipped to a frothy perfection.

chocolate french silk pie or chocolate rspberry torte

Um...chocolate.
Was this a trick question?

Black Forest Cake

My favorite chocolate dessert is any of good quality I watch my best friend eat, her name is Sabrina, and she is absolutely nuts for chocolate, she says it satisfies her more than sex!, needles to say if I should be fortunate enough to win this ,I will give it to her to enjoy!

I like brigadeiros - Brazilian chocolate fudge caramels. It's just not a birthday without them! We make them and leave them for Santa (heh, heh).

Rice & Beans restaurant in NYC has a GREAT brigadeiro that they make for you on the spot and serve it with vanilla ice cream while the caramel is still nice and warm.

cake or pot de creme

chocolate souffle with white and milk choc chips

chocolate chip cookies :)

chocolate mousse

Chocolate chip cookies made with big chunks of bittersweet chocolate and pecans.

Little chocolate cups filled with chantilly cream -- especially when spiked with a chocolate liquer. Mmm.

And just about any kind of chocolate truffles, or European chocolate...

Brownies are always a good choice. I also loved a recipe from 'Serve it Forth', recipes from Sci-Fi and Fantasy writers called Death By Chocolate pie. Oreo crust, brownie core with choc ganache on top. MMMmmmm!

chocolate covered macademia nuts from Jacque Torres, amazing

A flourless chocolate cake with a bottle of red wine.

anything with chocolate and mint!

I like chocolate in almost any form, but for decadence I would choose one of Marcel Desaulnier's recipes.

Simple, hot chocolate with whipped cream.

My friend, Janine, once gave me a box of brownies into which she had put VAST amounts of bittersweet chocolate in fairly sizeable chunks. That's a serious candidate for favorite.

Chocolate ice cream. If there could be only one.

Jean-Georges Vongterichten's winter-spiced molten chocolate cakes (made by my husband) with Gale Gand's mascarpone and crystallized ginger ice cream (made by me) -- a/k/a/ my annual birthday dessert!!!

Chocolate chip cookies

Chocolate lava cake!

Chocolate with candied orange peel gelato !

gateau au chocolat

Too easy... Chocolate croissant - hot - in Paris - with cocoa and creme :)

I find that having too deep or rich a chocolate overwhelms the palate. I prefer light items that contain chocolate but do not try to rip one's throat open. I'm fond of spicy chocolate panna cottas and other random baked goods with chocolate pieces studded in them.

Just one? Argh.
I guess, at least at this particular moment, I would say whiskey truffles.

Can I just answer 'yes'?
If I really have to pick, a good cup of hot dark chocolate, with whipped cream or marshmallows.

chocolate ice cream

Williams-Sonoma peppermint bark. A wonderful holiday treat, but I wish it was around all the time!

Leonides gianduja

ohh impossible to choose just one, but any really rich decadent chocolate cake or ice cream---also I am particularly partial to Jacques Torre's dark chocolate covered ginger!

chocolate panna cotta - just right texture to compliment the rich chocolate taste!

Chocolate lava cake, mostly because it has the word "lava" in it. Plus, it's a three-desserts-in-one deal, because you have a dense, ultra-chocolate, fudgey cake plus a gushing chocolate center, and then you can put ice cream and whipped cream on top. And did I mention it has the world "lava" in it? So you can put plastic dinos on top and then kill them when you use a spoon to make the earth collapse? Rawr!

brownie sundaes!

Chocolate molten lava cake, with a dash of kosher salt added when its served.

chocolate mousse, for sure.

I don't really care for chocolate cake. Too rich, and, to me, chocolate needs to have a creamy texture, although I will allow that I may not have ever tasted 'really good' chocolate cake.

chocolate bread pudding with a side of vanilla bean ice cream

Wow. Really good chocolate pudding, hot fudge over vanilla ice cream and peanuts, or just a little square of dark chocolate.

fallen chocolate cake, oh yeah.

definitely a gooey-chewy warm brownie, the kind with the flaky top.

any combination of chocolate and peanut butter.

Anything warm—warmed browning, warm lava cake....yum!

My favorites chocolate dessert it... chocolate. Or chocolates. Straight up. Yum.

molten chocolate cake.......

Chocolate ice cream.

Chocolate cake with a dark chocolate ganache filling and frosting!

Tri-chocolate mousse.

Probably a chocolate layer cake with chocolate ganache and a true buttercream.

chocolate mouse cake.

Really soft and gooey chocolate chip cookies,

chocolate mousse any time

Hot fudge sundae.

Chocolate cheesecake..

dark chocolate covered pretzels

creme de menthe brownies!!

Hot chocolate at a cold football game

Roni-Sue's Pig Candy!

Plain ol chocolate cake...easy on the frosting.

chocolate with a little smoked sea salt on top. yum!

After reading through all the comments above, it's going to be tough to pick just one (they're all making me want to run right out and get--or bake--something chocolaty RIGHT NOW), but I think my current fave are the chocolate toffee wedges, a recipe I found on Serious Eats--they made a terrific impromptu birthday dessert!

Gateau Opera. Coffee, chocolate, buttercream - the best!

Mexican Hot Chocolate. Mmmm...

My Homemade Hot Chocolate Fudge Sauce served over Vanilla Bean Ice Cream with Toasted Pecans!
Nuttin' Better!

I used to make a flourless chocolate cake with Grand Marnier--it was the best!

A dark chocolate truffle. That's all I need to make me happy.

chocolate fudge... no nuts... preferably from Mackinaw Island... :)

An old fashioned chocolate malt

Brownies made from the original recipe (Parker house? Palmer house? Some hotel in Chicago) but with a chocolate ganache frosting instead of the apricot glaze. With a scoop of chocolate ice cream, if I've been really, really good.

The chocolate pound cake made from cocoa that used to be in the KitchenAid mixer cookbook (30 years ago!).

simple: chocolate chip cookies. they are getting me through finals.

A restaurant in my neighborhood makes the most delicious chocolate pot de creme, flavored with very strong turkish coffee. Rich, luxurious, dark chocolate and strong coffee--what could be better?

dark chocolate espresso brownies

Chocolate mousse cake, or really good hot fudge sauce over coffee ice cream, or flourless chocolate cake, or a box of dark chocolates...Hard to pick just one!

Ooh, chocolate lava cake. Love that stuff.

Chocolate cream pie. For sure.

Mmm, it's got to be the chocolate sour-cream cake with peanut butter frosting from Sky High Triple Layer Cakes

Warm flour-less chocolate cake with creme anglaise

Cold Chocolate Cake.

The best chocolate dessert I ever had was a chocolate corn pone at Mesa Grill, a creation of pastry chef Wayne Harley Brachman.

moist chocolate cake

Chocolate cake with warm molten center

one really rich dark chocolate truffle with a glass of dessert wine, or chocolate covered orange peel with hot tea.

Another vote for chocolate lava cake.

Something I developed myself: a flourless chocolate cake sweetened only with honey (which adds an incredible depth of flavor), topped with lightly sweetened raspberry coulis, fresh raspberries, a drizzle of caramel sauce, and a side of whipped creme fraiche. Totally ridiculous and over the top decadent.

Chocolate Mousse!

chocolate covered cherries

chocolate souffle

Jean-Georges Vongerichten's Warm Soft Chocolate Cake

Chocolate pudding! And if you topped it with Amaretto whipped cream, I'd love you forever.

choc souffle, but only the crust, with whipped cream

I'm going to have to go with tiramisu cheesecake. Oh, the perfect blending of two heavens...
:)

Favorite chocolate dessert? What other kind is there. Chocolate cheesecake, I guess.

Black Forest Cake.

Chocolate mousse.

A brownie hot fudge sundae made with dark chocolate ice cream and little chocolate sprinkles on the whipped cream.

Pots de creme. First discovered while tending to my grandmother, who was recovering from surgery at the time.

Dark chocolate-covered Australian candied ginger from Mondel's, across the street from Columbia on Broadway. Mmmmmm.

pots de crème

Chocolate lava cake.....gooey chocolatey goodness!

Appetizer of swiped batter is a must before my favorite chocolate dessert of squidgy brownies.

chocolate mousse

Truffles for something bite-sized. Flourless chocolate cake, souffle, cheesecake, or mousse for something larger. Can't pick just one.

chocolate souffle

chocolate truffles

Choclate bread pudding with white chocolate sauce. Yum.

Homemade chocolate pudding. Yay for classics!

The Cocoa Snowflake recipe recently featured is a definite contender....

Rosie's chocolate orgasm brownies.... in Cambridge MA

spicy, thick hot chocolate. that counts as a dessert, right?

Anything chocolate and gooey and insanely rich. Chocolate cake, brownies, cheesecake, pie, etc. :-)

Chocolate Chili Pots de Creme - hands down, unless I make it into ice cream - then it's Chocolate Chili Ice Cream.

Of course I could also eat cheese tamales with a rich dark homemade (chocolate rich) mole sauce for dessert any time.

spicy flourless chocolate cake/souffle

Brownies! Lame, I know, but classic

Chocolate stout cake sitting in a puddle of ganache!

chocolate souffle!

Definately truffles!

chocolate pudding

When I was little, it was Swenson's Chocolate Chocolate Sundae. Now, it's Chocolate Doberge Cake...but that could be because Swenson's closed. :(

Whidbey's Washington Port Chocolate Sauce over good vanilla ice cream

chocolate bread pudding is mine

Does Mallomars count? I just bought a box!

Truffles and a glass of port.

Chocolate dacquoise

I'm not a huge chocolate fiend, so usually a small amount will tide me over. I happen to work right near Charles Chocolates, and would have to say my favorite thing is their chocolate covered almonds. The chocolate is thick and rich, with a perfectly toasted almond inside. It's the perfect bite for me.

I like a chocolate cake with good chocolate frosting. The cake has to be moist and rich in chocolate flavor; the chocolate frosting has to have just the right amount of sweetness, but not too much. The frosting should also not taste too buttery.

anything, really -- chocolate ice cream is always a favorite

French Silk Pie

Chocolate Dream Bars - it's like a chocolate brownie topped with marshmallow, and then more chocolate. YUM!

Anything with chocolate and raspberries.

chocolate bread pudding with burnt vanilla ice cream & fleur de sel.

Chocolate Pudding and warm chocolate chip cookies... Mmmmm

impossible question much? a very good chocolate shortbread can't be beat, especially with flaked salt on top. or...a moist, dense, boozy chocolate cake?

I'm going to go old school.

Duncan Hines chocolate cake, lots of chocolate frosting from a can and reddi whip out of a can.

Can you tell my Mom was the predecessor to Sandra Lee?

Flourless chocolate cake

Chocolate lava cake.

Classic American chocolate cake, with a rich cocoa icing. I'm making one for my birthday next week!

chocolate chip cookies... I'll be honest, I don't care much about chocolate, but my wife loves it.

warm derby pie.

I've never had them, but my guess is Charles Chocolates would rank high!!

moooooousse....

chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream and chocolate ice cream and hot fudge sauce.

I swear any form of chocolate will do in a pinch, but I really do love a nice pot de creme.....

next favorite is probably something along the lines of those little chocolate lava cakes. I know they are kind of passe at this point, but there is something about the ooooey goooey waaaaaarm richnessssssss that really does satisfy....

Chocolate chip cookies

Dark Chocolate mousse. It's pure chocolate heaven.

If it's chocolate, I will eat it. If you're going to make me choose, some type of rich, dense chocolate cake with chocolate frosting.

triple chocolate pudding pie

Do I only have to pick one? It's not fair to the rest of the chocolate dessert I like. I would have to say chocolate molten lava cake or chocolate chip cookies.

in cookie form, or a particular textured brownie

butterscotch brownies!

I will never know why they are named "butterscotch brownies".. they don't have a shred of butterscotch brownies.. and they have chocolate chips on top. *sigh*

Chocolate layer cake with chocolate buttercream frosting and chocolate ganache...can you tell that I love chocolate?

The kind of chocolate you'd get with madrileño churros at six in the morning. Maybe that would be breakfast then? But really, the best.

Anything chocolate is good to me but my favorite by far was this chocolate cake my mom made for me years ago based off of Bruce Bogtrotter's chocolate cake from Matilda. I don't like cake and I loved this. That's how good it was.

My favorite would have to be chocolate mousse with a tart raspberry sauce. Mmm.

chocolate stout cake

Chocolate half-moons.

Around Christmas time, our annual buche de Noel (yule log). Mmm!

I adore a square (or three) of dark chocolate... or on a less sophisticated note, a good ol' chocolate chip cookie.

Chocolate souffle. Can't beat it!

Chocolate Chili Cookies =p

cocoa brownies

Tiramisu is truly my fave, but if that isn't chocolaty enough, I'm also a sucker for a chocolate lava cake.

chocolate cake with chocolate fudge frosting and ganache filling.

Marcel Desaulniers' "Death by Chocolate" as served at The Trellis in Williamsburg, VA.
This is the real thing, and not the omnipresent piece of stale chocolate case being sold under this name at many unimaginative dining establishments. The original actually justifies the name.

chocolate souffle

David Lebovitz's chocolate "Idiot Cake" is my hands down favorite.

Valrohna Chocolate Souflee with Raspberry Sauce

El Ray chocolate, straight up!

a warm chocolate chunk (dark chocolate) cookie

flourless chocolate cake!

My favorite chocolate dessert is the 'lava cake'. You know... the cake with melted chocolate oozing out from the center of the cake. Yum!

Fudge. 'Runny' fudge, week-old fudge, peanut butter fudge, marshmallow fudge. Unlike chocolate cake, I've never met a fudge I didn't like.

HOMEMADE chocolate cake, pure and simple. Real butter (gasp!), real cocoa, real chocolate.

Oh, and full fat vanilla bean ice cream on the side.

Oy...

Velvety smooth chocolate pot de creme....so sexy and satisfying!

i never can turn down chocolate, but i think it's best appreciated when it's flavors and richness can be balanced by another component. my favorites are chocolate chunk cookies, warm brownie sundaes with vanilla ice cream, and chocolatines-- a totally fabulous twice baked chocolate and almond croissant. sigh.

Most devil's food cake

Something rich and chocolatey, like a dark chocolate pudding or creme brulee

1 piece of high-quality dark chocolate. That's all I need.

chocolate mousse

you can't really beat a triple chocolate mousse. white chocolate, milk chocolate and dark chocolate all in one with a chocolate graham cracker crust and fresh whipped cream. now that's good.

alter eco's velvet dark chocolate bar is my absolute favorite. dark chocolate with a touch of cream.

Chocolate ice cream flavored with cinnamon.

Any rich chocolate will do. Flourless chocolate cake, chocolate cheesecake, or a nice full fat chocolate ice cream.
