Seriously Delicious Holiday Giveaway: Two Peter Luger Steaks

Every day through January 1 we're giving away a crazy good food item on Serious Eats. Try your luck, and if you win, you'll be eating some seriously delicious food come the new year.

peterluger.pngToday we're giving away a package of two prime, dry-aged ("longer than four weeks") porterhouse steaks, thanks to the generous folks at Peter Luger. These steaks are not small. Each weighs more than two pounds. The steaks come with two bottles of Peter Luger steak sauce and a bag of chocolate coins. Ed Levine

Porterhouse baby...love that flavorful bone!

The best steak I've ever eaten was a porterhouse. The most flavorful cut of meat I've ever had the pleasure of tasting.

Love NY strip, Rib Eye. Only recently discovered the deliciousness of rare and medium rare steak after eating at Fogo de Chao. LOVE IT.

Depends on how you are cooking but for the grill, you can't beat a porterhouse. I especially love the whole taste of filet and taste of sirlion combo of porterhouse. Mmmmm, meaty goodness.

Manoman, any cut with a bone to gnaw on! I think I'm part cave man!

I love the porterhouse steak. I can cook it any way i like. It is perfect grilled but can also be broiled, sautéd or pan-fryed. I prefer mine medium rare. It also reminds me of the old west, cowboys, family, and there no comfort food better than a porterhouse steak.

My favorite cut in general is the ribeye because it is the most flavorful with its great marbling. If I want something a little leaner though, I prefer a nice porterhouse. Thanks for the giveaway.

Lately I've become a fan of the cheaper cuts, like flank and hanger steaks (a lot of them have really good, beefy flavor), but I think I could manage to find something good to do with a couple of Porterhouses. :)

You can't gone wrong with a thick Porterhouse.

My favorite steak is usually tender, tasty, and nicely prepared. Usually better quality meats are enjoyable to eat, but in my experience, the ribeye is the one to beat.

Tbone, followed closely by Ribeye. Grilled Rare, served with Salt and pepper, a little pat of butter melting on top. Best sides would be Garlic mashed with skins still in, Grilled Corn, Garden Salad and a warm Ciabatta Bun. Serve with an Ice cold bottle of apple cider. For Dessert a steaming bowl of Rhubarb Crisp and some double churned vanilla ice cream.

Porterhouse on the grill is my favorite followed closely by a t-bone.

Visually it is a beautifully marbled and striated cut that begs to be cooked quickly over high heat. Skirt steak takes on seasoning well and when cooked perfectly it has a pink juicy center and a crunchy fire kissed outside.

Nothing beats a filet mignon!

I go through different phases and have learned different ways to prepare all the cuts of meat. But, I have always loved Filet Mignon.

Rib Eye is the best, most suculent steak!!

Prefer a ribeye cooked charred on the outside and pink and warm on the inside.

I love sirloin, cooked medium well with a bit of garlic rub! This is a fantastic giveaway; can't even imagine if I was lucky enough to win!

We love ribeye steak. A strip steak is second choice. But for a special day a standing rib roast is tops!

My favorite is Kobe Porterhouse.

I love a Porterhouse steak, medium rare, with cognac peppercorn sauce. My husband and I order this and split it, just enough for two!

While I love a nice rib eye thick with dry rub and baked or thin on the grill with seasoning, the mighty Porterhouse is the undisputed champion.

Believe it or not... the best cut I ever grilled was a flat iron steak. Tender like Fillet Mignon, with the beefy taste of a Strip steak. My new favorite.
