Turkey Cannon Cooks Turkeys, Does Not Shoot Them

Fill the cylinder of the Turkey Cannon with your favorite cooking liquid, stick a turkey on it, and let it roast to perfection. Like in a beer can chicken, the liquid helps cook and flavor the bird from the inside, resulting in a faster cooking time and more flavor. [via CNET]

My reaction to the headline:
"aw... maaaan!" Why DOESN'T it shoot a turkey? If Ben Franklin can electrocute them to culinary perfection (seriously... look it up) why can't we fire one across the dining room table's bow?

jpolk. you're right. there is no reason we shouldn't have a post dedicated to cannon-turkeys.
who wants to design it?

It makes me want a cigarette, and I quit smoking.
PerkyMac at 2:26PM on 11/20/08
Around here that item would be called the Turkey Fucker. Oh dear.
mschlock at 2:53PM on 11/20/08
oh man, that title truly made me laugh out loud!

Wow, my day is now complete. I also wish it shot a turkey. Nothing like a butterball flying at Uncle Petes head at about 300 feet per second, that would be the best payback ever for all those miserable holidays we had to suffer through as kids.

I prefer the chicken cannon (see second entry). It can be viewed in action here.
This is me patriotically exhibiting the first part of my user name.

Aaaaaaaaggghh! It's a UNITASKER!!! Shhhhh, don't let AB find out about this.
buffy at 5:02PM on 11/20/08
Unitasker? Uh, I'm sure some of the SE-ers can come up with other uses...
hungryinhouston at 6:04PM on 11/20/08
Seems a little too clinical for my tastes.
DaveFaris at 6:15PM on 11/20/08
that picture just looks wrong... the turkey should have her legs up in the air!!!
GingerSnap at 6:36PM on 11/20/08
I am so ashamed to admit it, but I actually have a Turkey Cannon and I love it! My mother in-law sent it me a couple of years ago. I BBQ (grill) all my turkeys now utilizing it. No brining, or deep frying turkey for me. I slip it on the ole TC, throw some apple wood or cherry wood chips in my weber and I'm good to go!
RossS at 6:40PM on 11/20/08
@Ginger - how do you know it's a "her"?
hungryinhouston at 6:41PM on 11/20/08
Haha GingerSnap---that Turkey Cannon should come equipped with a set of stirrups and speculum!
buffy at 6:54PM on 11/20/08
That thing is obscene! Holy crisis! And I just stopped laughing at your comments, PerkyMac & mschlock.
@Robyn: You're silly!!!!!! That thing is hilarious.
