5 Days Until Thanksgiving

Gobble, gobble!Today's Thanksgiving Planning Tip: Prepare cranberry sauce and then refrigerate.

One tradition we always had in my family was to make the cranberry orange relish (the recipe is on the back of the Ocean Spray bag). But basically, one bag of cranberries, one orange (not peeled), and about 1 cup of sugar (to start). Grind up the cranberries and oranges (after they have been quartered) either in a food processor or meat grinder (I bought one specifically for this purpose so I don't cross contaminate any raw meat). IStir the sugar in and taste it to see if you want more. It will macerate nicely over the next few hours and can be added to. I love making this in advance, and some of the fun is making it in a cold room so none of the cranberries "melt". Enjoy!

Cranberry relish! My family makes this as well, but with a an apple chucked in as well. Damn tasty, too bad it took me 20 years to realise it.
