Photo of the Day: Passive-Aggressive 'Feed the Fish' Note

I'm surprised my turtle hasn't left me a note like this yet. My roommate Jessica is by far the better parent of Cecil, our red-eared slider turtle (named after the old man-voiced turtle in Looney Toons). This is a non-passive-aggressive thank you to Jessica for making sure Cecil is not dead. Jessica and Tiffany should be friends.

Oh, man: Lamb by Christopher Moore. Great book, great author. Can't wait until Fool comes out in February.

oh, and I bet the cat would love a fishy snack treat.

I had a baby turtle in college named Cecil!

I do enjoy the passive agressive site as well, a lot of very-angry-on-the-inside people out there!

What a cute note! Was it written by an 8-year-old? I try to leave notes for my roommate about the cats, but they get fed to much any way, at least they won't die from it! (ps I grew up wit tons of turtles!)

love the blog, so don't get me wrong, but what does this have to do with "serious eats"... i understand this stuff on a personal blog, but i'd be nice if everything here remained related to things that go in your mouth, food industry, etc.

I'm with Pete....first thing I noticed was the Christopher Moore book! Too funny....I guess I'm not the only fan of his on this blog! Ditto that, Pete....can't wait for Fool to come out!!!!!

My plants in college would have had signs like this, thanking my boyfriend (now husband) for keeping them alive. Even now, after 11 years, even though he knows I think cut flowers are a waste of money because the flowers will just die...

...he still won't buy me plants. =)

I'm pretty sure that fish's water need oxygen, too. I'm not sure whether it's the irresponsible person or the passive-aggressive person who's trying to suffocate the poor thing.
