Must Wash Hands, Restaurant Bathroom Signage Blog

20081110-mustwashy.jpg

20081106-mustwashhands.pngMust Wash Hands, a photo blog documenting "employees must" signs in restaurant loos. I heard once that the proper amount of hand-washing time was however long it took you to sing "Happy Birthday." Let's all not sing that aloud in the can, though. [via Eat Me Daily]

for some reason i dont think this was put up by the employees or management and is thus kind of annoying.

Agreed. That was an insensitive example to use here and not within the spirit of Serious Eats, where we value the work restaurant and bar employees do, obviously. I've replaced it with a different, snarky sign from the same establishment. I'm sorry about that, Prairie. (Original example used.)

Well, one doesn't need to be astute by looking at the writing on the wall, this establishment appears to be a sh!thole or more likely a night club. Both pictures are funny. The second pic is funnier though. :D

How do you wash one and not the other?

@beth1: I think it's a joke.

some/others?

brooklyn, represent!

Eww, if that's the bathroom I don't even want to thiink about the kitchen.

At a previous place of employment (before moving on to the illustrious work of accouting), we cut out a comic from the paper and presented to our boss. It summed up the place quite well - the comic showed a man washing his hands in a restaurant bathroom, sees a sign near the sink, "Employees not washing their hands is the LEAST of our concerns"
