What's better than pumpkin pie? Deep fried pumpkin pie! Alicia Mazzara of DCist shows you how to make deep fried pumpkin pies with her recipe and photo gallery. "These delicate, flaky hand pies are like biting into a cinnamon sugar doughnut with a pumpkin center," she says. How could anyone resist? How?

Ooooh, frahd pahs, as my cousin Anne used to say!

The shape reminds me of the little smile in the Serious Eats logo. That little pie looks SOOOO good right now.

OH. MY. GOD.

That is amazing! Why on earth didn't I ever think of THAT? Wow!

I'm actually speechless (I know, I know).

Seriously. I've been looking for a way to get hubby his punkin pie fix over in Bangkok (where he has no oven). This might just be the ticket. Do you think a beginner cook could handle the deep frying part?

@LoCo: I've rarely deep fried anything in my life! I'm kind of intimidated by it, but I heard it's not..so bad. You gotta start somewhere; why not start with PIE?

Holy Moly...that looks so unbelievable. You can tell it's the perfect crispiness on the outside, and that cinnamon sugar coating....lordy lordy....

This looks AMAZING! I think this will be the one thing I make a point to try this year. I'm sharing this with my readers...notanotheromnivore.blogspot.com!

NAOmni

Whoa...I totally should have fried the pumpkin pie tarts I made. Genius!
