Blue Pumpkins, A Quest Fulfilled

Photograph from chippenziedeutch on Flickr
In Talk earlier this week, JerzeeTomato asked where to find a blue pumpkin. After a three-day search, in which she checked back in on the thread to update us all, she finally found one at a small farm stand in Delaware.
But not before she left a lot of us wondering what the heck a blue pumpkin looked like.
The pumpkin photo above isn't from Jerz—I just wanted to highlight it to show everyone blue pumpkins. I've only ever seen them in photos. This one is from Flickr user chippenziedeutch.
And here's a photo of a 'Queensland Blue' split open. The contrast of blue skin and deep orange flesh is quite striking.

Eatable? I am I the only one who finds that beyond annoying?

I love blue, but the blue pumpkin reminds me too much of the Denver Broncos, and I DON'T like them! I will just stick to basic orange (though I do like purple potatoes).

Why doesn't the orange remind you of the Broncos?

Queensland Blue is the pumpkin Barbara Kingsolver spent 30 min trying to cut in Animal, Vegetable, Miracle. She made soup in it.

They are edible.
Thank you Adam!!! My little blue hubbard is hardly as nice.
Today I went out looking for bigger and nicer but again came up empty.
I have all weekend to keep looking for more.
I will keep seaching till I find a greater pumpkin.

I found seeds on Amazon.com for 2.95 for 15 seeds, and from the site:
https://www.artisticgardens.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=23_65 for .35- the quantity is not given. I'm going to grow some of these next year, along with an heirloom white and and heirloom orange.
