They shouldn't have tried, now they've brought shame on their fearless leader, Ahmadinejad. Remember, just like his claim that they don't hang gays in Iran, because there aren't any, the world can't be allowed to hear about the hungry people he wants to pretend don't exist either.

Those sandwich surgeons may be good at slicing a sandwich but they aren't good at fending off a hungry crowd. They should have brought in the sandwich police.

As an Iranian-American, I thought this story was pretty funny (I submitted it to Serious Eats). Little did I think the comments would be so politicized!
I've been to the park where this food festival was held in Tehran and no, the place is not swarming with starving pepole.
We just really like food. ;)
