According to our handy site-metering utility, the top 10 most delicious items on Serious Eats this week were ...

1. The Hamburger Fatty Melt, a Burger with Two Grilled Cheese Sandwiches as Its Bun
The title says it all. [from A Hamburger Today]

2. Served: My Waiter Peeves
"We waiters all have different things that provoke us; things that make us grumble to each other, “I hate people!” Things that inspire even the most warmhearted and sweet to harbor homicidal fantasies. Here are a few of mine."

3. In Season: Broccoli, and Cooking It Creatively
I think this is the first time an "In Season" has made it into the Tasty 10. And for broccoli! Glad to see this oft-dissed veggie is gettin' some props.

4. Starbucks New Piadinis 'Sandwiches' vs. the Original Italian Piadinas
"Yesterday, Starbucks launched a new 'breakfast sandwich' called the 'piadini,' inspired by the Italian flatbreadlike 'piandina' usually filled with meat and/or cheese and eaten at lunch or snack time. Starbucks' piadina introduction was basically screaming for a comparison, and once we got real Italians involved, the taste test results weren't pretty."

5. Padma Seductively Eats a Soft Pretzel
In the new promo for the season five of Top Chef, judge Padma Lakshmi slowly gnaws on a pretzel near a New York subway map. She also throws around a pair of whisks, again, as if she has a dirty little secret. You know you wanna watch.

6. Ed Levine's Serious Diet, Week 35: Eating Meat Sparingly Is Alright

"I'm slowly realizing that meat can and should be enjoyed in small portions. Serious Eats contributor and Meat Lite co-author Joy Manning does have a point: small portions of meat can be an incredibly satisfying thing to eat."

7. A New Look at Old Bay with Classic Shrimp Scampi
"My renewed interest in Old Bay was born out of my love of rubs for meat, poultry, and fish. Lately, I've been experimenting with Fire & Flavor's Collection (the French Mustard & Herb Blend is especially delicious), as well as a maple sugar rub I picked up at the Wood Homestead stand at my local farmers' market. But with all the fancy options available, I suddenly felt compelled to go back to the basics. Old Bay has been around—with the same exact formula, in the same exact tin—for almost 70 years. Wasn't it high time I gave it another try?"

8. $3.59 Caviar at Ikea
"With financial giants collapsing all around us, caviar may seem like a bit of a faux-pas, an extraneous luxury. Lobster costs around $30 per pound, and truffles are going for $160 an ounce. But you don’t have to give up the good life—if you buy your caviar at Ikea."

9. Dinner Tonight: Hainanese Chicken Rice
Every ounce of this meal has a quiet, haunting flavor, which makes it the perfect foil for the ringing condiments. A garlic and ginger paste adds the zing, and a blazing hot red chili sauce, the fire. [from Recipes]

10. Anyone Watching the Batali/Paltrow Show on PBS?
"I had the chance to check out 'On the Road Again' with Mario Batali and crew last Sunday. I think I'm instantly hooked! Here are some thoughts on this week's episode..." [from Talk]
